Children’s Health Policy Centre

We are an interdisciplinary research group in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Simon Fraser University. We focus on improving social and emotional wellbeing for all children, and on the public policies needed to reach these goals. Our work complements the mission of the Faculty of Health Sciences to advance the health of populations locally, nationally and globally.

We celebrate the First Peoples on whose traditional territories we are all privileged to live and work.

At the Children’s Health Policy Centre, we have been deeply saddened to learn of the hundreds of children’s bodies being identified on the sites of former residential schools in BC and across Canada. We know that these events confirm what Indigenous Peoples have long known and have long been living with. In honour of all these children and their families and communities, and in honour of all Indigenous Peoples, we stand with you and we re-commit to moving forward on the path of truth and reconciliation. — Updated February 2022
